Job description
A large academic medical center is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens assignment. This is a high-acuity, Level I trauma environment offering a diverse and complex case mix, strong team support, and consistent full-time scheduling.
Assignment Details
Start Date: Late June 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Preferred: 5x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Full-time coverage preferred (will consider part-time providers with consistent availability)
No call required
Practice Environment
Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Academic)
High-acuity, Level I Trauma Center
Large, collaborative anesthesia team including physicians, CRNAs, and trainees
Opportunity to work alongside and support residents and medical students
High surgical volume with complex patient population
Case Mix
Pediatric anesthesia (required focus)
General surgery
Orthopedics
ENT
GI
GYN
Spine
Ophthalmology (cataracts)
Broad “bread and butter” plus higher-acuity cases
Clinical Expectations
Perform own cases with some supervision of CRNAs and residents
Provide academic support and guidance to trainees
Maintain a steady daily case volume in a high-complexity setting
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (ABMS/AOA)
Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship required
Active state license (or willingness to obtain)
Recent Level I trauma experience required
Minimum of 1 year of experience (no new graduates)
Case logs demonstrating recent pediatric case volume required
ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
DEA required
Additional Information
Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60–90 days
Large, well-supported clinical environment with strong team infrastructure
