Pediatric Anesthesiology Opportunity in Richmond, Virginia - Willing to license

Position Highlights:
•Start Date: 10/1/26
•Contract Length: 6 months
•Shift Details: 1-2 weeks per month
•Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts

Work Details:
• Support staff: Other Anesthesiologists and CRNA’s
• Amount of coverage needed per month: 1- 2 weeks per month
• Patients per day: Approximately 1–2 complex cardiac surgical cases per day or 2–5 catheterization/EP procedures, with additional responsibilities including pre-anesthetic evaluations, postoperative ICU management, multidisciplinary care coordination, teaching, and academic activities. Case volume varies based on procedure complexity and OR schedule.
• Patient population/age: infant to 18
• Department description: Level 1 trauma center. The Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team partners closely with pediatric cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, perfusionists, and nursing staff to provide anesthesia for a broad spectrum of congenital heart procedures, catheterization lab interventions, electrophysiology procedures, and other complex pediatric surgeries. Faculty care for patients ranging from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease while utilizing advanced perioperative monitoring, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and enhanced recovery practices.
• EMR: EPIC
• Hospital bed size: 820-890 beds
• Special procedures: ERCP (general and therapeutic) and EUS
• Practice Setting: Hospital

Requirements:
• Board Certification: required
• State license required: required or willing to license
• DEA: required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum experience required: 1-2 years
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
