Pediatric Cardiac ICU APP (Locums-CT-WILL LICENSE)

Job description

A Pediatric Cardiac ICU is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage. The provider will work 12 shifts per month, primarily 6p–6a, supporting a robust team that includes one attending and one fellow present during night shifts.

Patient census averages 5–6 per night, with surgical days seeing up to 10–12 patients. Responsibilities include bedside rounding, admissions, procedures (central line placement, intubation, arterial line), and coordination with surgeons. Experience with pacer wires is a plus.

The hospital is a large tertiary care center (1,500+ beds) using EPIC EMR. Candidates must be board-certified, hold DEA/CSR, and have at least three years of experience in a pediatric or critical care setting.

Practice Setting: Hospital-based Pediatric Cardiac ICU
Travel Support: Roundtrip airfare, rental car, and housing provided (long-term housing or Airbnb options preferred due to hotel pricing).

This locum role is ideal for an APP with strong procedural skills, communication abilities, and experience in pediatric critical care.

• 6-month contract starting February 9, 2026
• 3x12 hour night shifts per week (Tue–Thu preferred; 1–2 weekends/month)
• ACNP or PA with ≥3 years’ experience; PALS & ACLS required
