NICU NP Locum Opportunity – Charlottesville, VA

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Specialty: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / NICU APP

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks with Option to Extend

Schedule

* 3–5 shifts per month
* 12-hour shifts
* Must be willing to rotate days, nights, and weekends
* Primary need is for night shift coverage
* Part-time and PRN availability considered

Practice Setting

* Hospital-based Level IV NICU
* 64-bed NICU
* EMR: Epic

Patient Population

* Infants and neonates

Patient Volume

* Day Shift: Approximately 8 mixed-acuity patients
* Night Shift: Approximately 20–30 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

* NICU patient management
* Attendance at high-risk deliveries
* Ventilator management
* Intubations
* Central line placement (PICC, UAC, UVC)
* Lumbar punctures
* ECMO support experience preferred (patients managed by fellows)
* Work independently and autonomously within a Level IV NICU environment

Requirements

* Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
* Active Virginia license required
* DEA required
* CSR required
* BLS required
* PALS required
* Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience
* Neonatal training required
* Level IV NICU experience required
* High-risk delivery experience required
* Must be comfortable practicing independently

Credentialing

* Estimated credentialing timeframe: 45–60 days
* Virginia licensing currently taking approximately 8 weeks
