Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Locum Opportunity – Madera/Fresno, CA

Location: Madera & Fresno, California
Start Date: August 2026
Assignment Length: 26 Weeks

Position Highlights

• Coverage across two partnered facilities in Central California:
• Valley Children's Hospital (Level IV NICU) – Madera
• Community Regional Medical Center (Level III NICU) – Fresno

• Approximately 18 shifts per month needed across both campuses
• Facility is open to multiple providers sharing coverage (2–4 part-time providers)
• Nurse Practitioners only; Physician Assistants are not eligible for this role

Schedule

• Level IV NICU: 16-hour night shifts (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Level III NICU: 12-hour day shifts
• Flexible scheduling opportunities available

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience
• Level IV NICU experience preferred
• Ability to independently manage high-acuity neonatal patients
• Experience with micro-preemies (<28 weeks gestation)
• Delivery room experience required
• Proficient in neonatal resuscitation and critical care procedures

Required Procedures

• Neonatal intubations
• Needle thoracentesis and chest tube placement
• Umbilical artery and venous line placement (UA/UV lines)

Licensure & Requirements

• Active California NP license required
• DEA required if applicable
• No licensing assistance available
• No local candidates within 100 miles

Submission Requirements

1. Do you have Level III NICU experience?
2. Describe your delivery room experience.
3. Do you have experience managing micro-preemies (<28 weeks gestation)?
4. Are you intubation certified? How many intubations have you performed in the past 6 months?
5. Are you certified in needle thoracentesis and chest tube placement? When was the last time you performed either procedure?
6. Are you certified in umbilical line placement? How many UA/UV lines have you placed in the past 6 months?

Credentialing

• Approximately 60 days
• Name clear required (Name and NPI)
