Specialty: PICU and peds transitional care

Start Date: ASAP pending credentialing 60-90 days

Contract Length: 6 mo

Shift Details: 12 hour shifts
PICU: 6:15 Signout AM/PM
TCUP: 6:30 Signout AM/PM

12h pay for each shift, with expected 30 mins self-determined unpaid lunch break per shift

Department description:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Department (PICU) provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring. The department has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. More than 1,000 children per year are admitted into the intensive care departments at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter and airplane from throughout the western United States.

The Pediatric Transitional Care Department (TCUP) is a 16-bed department for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, titration of anticoagulant therapy, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery).

Requirements:
• Board Certification: **NP MUST BE CPNP-AC**
If PA, then a masters in physician assistant studies or medical studies required
• License required: yes, CA
• DEA: required
• Minimum experience required: Minimum experience required: 1 year of PICU, PCICU, or Peds Hospitalist experience required

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
