Opportunity Details

Schedule:
• 24-hour on-campus call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend coverage only
• Typical assignment runs Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM

Practice Details:
• Pediatric Critical Care setting
• Average daily census of 11 patients
• Work alongside 2-3 pediatric/ED residents during the day and 1 resident overnight
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Resources Available:
• Medical, Surgical, and Neuro ICU
• Level II & III NICU
• Pediatric Unit
• 24-hour Radiology, CT, MRI, and Laboratory Services
• 24-hour Operating Room
• Multispecialty support including Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urology, Hematology/Oncology, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery

Required Skills & Procedures:
• Management of critically ill pediatric patients
• Cardiac and respiratory arrest
• Sepsis, renal failure, poisoning, and traumatic injuries
• Ventilator management
• Chest tube placement
• Central and arterial line placement
• Blood pressure management and transfusions
• ICP evaluation
• Hemodialysis
• Diagnostic taps
• Point-of-care ultrasound

Requirements:
• Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care
• Active South Carolina License Required (no licensing available)
• DEA Required
• PALS, ACLS, and BLS Required
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Clean background required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season

Credentialing:
• Approximately 60-90 days
