Pediatric Endocrinologist Needed in Long Beach, CA

13-week assignment with the option to extend

5, Day (8 Hours) 8:00 - 17:00

We have a new need for 1-2 FTE Pediatric Endocrinologists for outpatient clinic

Here is what I know about the need:
• Start date – ASAP, as soon as credentialed; ongoing need - would love to see locum to perm candidates
• They would cover a week at a time, in general, including half a day of clinic, rounding in the hospital, and availability for weeknight and weekend call coverage (from ER, NICU, PICU, inpatient hospitalists, etc.)
- How many patients per day will be seen?
- We are flexible on this. Hopefully a half day clinic each day; video visits are an option.
- How much callback is typically needed on an average week?
- We are determining this now. The prior arrangement had multiple providers in clinic and on inpatient service with fellows each day. We are only able to afford one locums per day so unlikely to have callbacks.
- Do they require board certification or is board eligible acceptable?
- Board elig is acceptable as long as it is early career / within time limit to sit for boards. We are ok with newly finished fellowship. Looking to hire a team as soon as possible.
- What are the typical procedures for this department?
- Insulin pump management
- Continuous glucose monitoring management
- supervision of the infusion center performing stim testing and other endocrine tests


Things to note about this position:
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 years of experience required
- Active CA license
- Clean background/Malpractice – any hits whatsoever will delay the privileging process so these candidates will not be considered
- Must be BE or BC
- Local candidates - highly preferred
