Locum Pediatric Hospitalist | Newborn & Peds Coverage | Owatonna, MN | 24-Hour Shifts, Light Census

Job description

Start: January 11, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks (ongoing)
Coverage: Pediatric hospitalist, newborn nursery and inpatient pediatrics
Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 7:00–7:00; 15–20 days of coverage per month
Call: 24-hour on call; return to the hospital after rounds about every 3–4 shifts for urgent needs
Volume: Average of 1–5 newborns and 0–2 pediatric patients
Practice Setting: Community hospital (Level IV trauma)
Patient Population: Newborns and pediatrics

• Newborn and pediatric inpatient rounding
• Urgent returns for sick newborns, deliveries where newborn resuscitation is anticipated, and pediatric admissions
• Sick newborns and critically ill pediatric patients are transferred to tertiary children's centers

Requirements
• Pediatric hospitalist; Family Medicine physicians with strong pediatric experience accepted
• Active Minnesota license required
• NRP required
• Fingerprinting required before privileges are granted
• Local providers preferred
