Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Pediatrician / Pediatric Hospitalist for a locum tenens opportunity in Potsdam, New York.
This position provides 24-hour call coverage for newborn and pediatric patients, with responsibilities across the newborn nursery, high-risk deliveries, emergency department consultations, and the pediatric inpatient unit.
The provider may remain outside the hospital when there are no acute hospital issues but must be able to return to the hospital within 20 minutes at all times while on call.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $2000/24 Hr. on Call - Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

Job Responsibilities
‣ Provide 24-hour pediatric hospitalist call coverage
‣ Provide care for patients in the newborn nursery
‣ Attend and manage high-risk deliveries
‣ Provide ER consultations
‣ Provide coverage for the pediatric inpatient unit
‣ Resuscitate and stabilize critically ill newborns when necessary pending transport to a NICU
‣ Respond to acute hospital issues while on call
‣ Remain within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times while on call
‣ Participate in both weekday and weekend coverage
‣ Multiple consecutive 24-hour shifts may be available based on coverage needs
‣ Use Epic for clinical documentation, utilizing available templates and order sets
‣ Use a personal cell phone for hospital calls
‣ Follow hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and call coverage
Qualifications
‣ Board Certified in Pediatrics — required
‣ Board Eligible candidates are not accepted
‣ Residents and Fellows are not accepted
‣ Active New York State medical license in hand — required
‣ Candidate must have Epic experience
‣ NRP, PALS, and BLS — required
‣ AHA or RQI certifications accepted/required
‣ DEA: No specific requirement listed

‣ Trauma Level I experience: Not specified

Working Hours
‣ 24-hour call shifts
