Locums PRN Peds Radiologist Needed in Long Beach, CA

Job description

Pediatric Radiologist – PRN Onsite Coverage
Day Shift: 7:00a–4:00p (9 hours)

Weekend Call Responsibilities
Covers pediatric inpatient & ER imaging from 8:00a–6:00p
Case mix: primarily plain films (~85%); ~15% US, CT, MR; no nuclear medicine
Reads overnight studies and morning volume starting at 8:00a (approx. 3 continuous hours)
Intermittent reads throughout the afternoon with urgent cases communicated by clerk
No trauma or code stroke coverage
Available for tech questions, consults, and outside study review
Performs urgent pediatric fluoroscopic procedures (non-interventional) as needed during a 24-hour call period (8a–8a)
After 6:00p: continues inpatient film consults until StatRad coverage begins at 11:00p
Typical weekend volume: ~60–80 studies
Overall time commitment comparable to a full weekday shift

Weeknight Call
Inpatient film consults from 8:00p–11:00p
Responsible for emergent pediatric fluoroscopic procedures from 8:00p–6:00a

MUST HAVES:
- Double board certified - Diagnostic Radiology & Pediatric Radiology
- Inpatient Epic experience
- Clean background with no malpractice claims - NO disciplinary actions of any kind - Requirement for emergency privileging
- Must have completed an accredited 3 year residency program; subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Radiology is required
- Must have unrestricted CA license
- DEA required
- BLS or ACLS
- 1 year of experience, 3+ preferred

Work Details:
One radiology department and one ER department serve both hospitals. They are "on call" for studies that must be ready by a peds rad.
Procedures: Fluoroscopies if working onsite
