Opportunity:
Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner - Pediatrics - Outpatient

Job Details:

  • Full-time, permanent outpatient pediatric nurse practitioner position
  • Work under a collaborative agreement with a pediatric physician
  • Provide preventive, acute, and chronic disease care at on-site and off-site clinic locations
  • Assess medical and psychosocial histories, perform physical exams (including gynecological and breast exams for adolescents as appropriate), and develop treatment plans
  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests as part of patient care
  • Provide confidential adolescent family planning services, including contraception management, pregnancy testing and options counseling, and emergency contraception
  • Provide patient and family education and counseling to support informed treatment decisions
  • Consult with or refer patients to the collaborating physician or other resources as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, including chart audits and patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Active Illinois RN and APRN licenses
  • Master's degree from an advanced practice nursing program, with pediatric NP training
  • Board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP or PPCNP-BC)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive
