Inpatient Pediatrician – Gallup Indian Medical Center (Contract) Location: Gallup, NM Start Date: June 1, 2025 Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Term with Option Periods Client: Indian Health Service (Federal Government Contractor Position) Position Overview: Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC), a critical access hospital serving the Navajo Nation and surrounding communities, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Inpatient Pediatrician for a contract position. This opportunity allows physicians to provide meaningful, high-impact care to a culturally diverse and medically underserved population. Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Flexible scheduling within the inpatient pediatric department Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric care Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic pediatric conditions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care planning and coordination Participate in emergency and neonatal response care Document all patient interactions and care in an EMR system (preferably RPMS) Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics Active, unrestricted medical license in the United States Current DEA registration and valid BLS, PALS, and/or ACLS certifications Minimum of one year of inpatient pediatric experience preferred Experience with RPMS or similar EMR systems is desirable Additional Requirements: Must pass a federal background check, including clearance under the Indian Child Protection Act Must meet all credentialing and privileging requirements as set by GIMC Benefits of This Opportunity: Serve a high-need patient population in a federal, mission-driven healthcare system Engage in meaningful work that directly impacts underserved communities Gain cultural insight and experience in one of the most unique regions in the United States Indian Preference hiring applies in accordance with Indian Health Service policies
