Aya Locums is partnering with a California hospital system to identify an experienced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician for ongoing weekend inpatient coverage. This role offers a balanced blend of on-site clinical care and call responsibility within a well-supported acute rehab environment, ideal for providers seeking consistency without weekday disruption.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: February 2, 2026
• Coverage Type: Recurring weekend coverage
• Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays
• On-Site Hours: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 hours per day)
• Call: Night call for admissions required
• Facilities: Two inpatient rehab locations approximately 3 miles apart
• Credentialing Timeline: 45–60 days

Clinical Overview
• Specialty: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
• Patient Volume: Approximately 12–13 patients per day
• Coverage Need: Every weekend
• Clinical Duties: Admissions, discharges, and daily rounding
• Patient Mix: General inpatient rehabilitation (no current spinal cord injury or TBI cases)
• Case Focus: Broad PM&R practice rather than subspecialty-only care

Procedural Experience (Preferred)
• Joint injections
• Spasticity management, including Botox and intrathecal baclofen pumps
• EMG/NCS experience not required for weekend coverage

Practice Environment
• Setting: Hospital-based inpatient acute rehabilitation units
• Care Model: Multidisciplinary and collaborative
• Support Services:
o Internal and general medicine providers available for acute medical concerns
o Consult access to neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and internal medicine

Requirements
• Licensure: Active California medical license required
• DEA: Active California DEA required
• Board Status: Board Eligible or Board Certified accepted
• Certifications: AHA BLS required
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an inpatient PM&R setting
