Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation MD Needed in Newport, RI (will license)

I have a client in RI who's seeking experienced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians. Here are the job details.

Start: July

26-week assignment

Mon-Fri 8a-430p. No nights, no call, no weekends

- Department description: 28bed CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility- provides short-term, intensive and coordinated level of multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Average length of stay 14days. Patients must qualify for IRF level of care including requiring close physician monitoring/medical management, 24-hour rehab nursing care and 3-hours of rehab a days /5 days a week.

Skills Required:
Provide high quality, evidence based care on the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Lead interdisciplinary rounds (PT/OT/SLP, social work, nursing, case management).
Collaborate with hospitalists, neurologists, surgeons, and referring teams to optimize care transitions.


- Patient Population/Age: Diagnostic mix FY25: Stroke 30%; Brain injury 11%; spinal cord 16%; MMT 10%; ortho 10%; neuro 6%; cardiac/pulm 4%; other 11%; AMP-LE 2%
- EMR EPIC
- Board Cert required
- 6 month+ need
- 120 days for credentialing
- Will consider licensure
- Interview with Chief of PMR, VP of PMR, and Med Director
