Inpatient Rehab Physiatrist Locums in Seattle, WA | 8a-5p, No Call | Epic | Nov 2026 Start

Job description

Start: November 1, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 11 total weeks of coverage
Coverage: General inpatient rehabilitation - management of inpatient rehab beds
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-17:00 (5x8s). Coverage dates: November 1-14; December 19-January 3; February 1-21
Call: No call
Volume: Approximately 12 inpatients per day (may increase slightly)
Practice Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation unit
Procedures: None - rehabilitation-based with no surgical component and no EMGs

Manage general inpatient rehabilitation beds as the primary medical service
Patient mix is roughly 30% stroke, 30% brain injury, and 30% spinal cord injury, with adults 18+ (occasional late-teen patients)
Unit admits approximately 30-40 patients per month, with each attending managing about half
Supervise residents and assist with admissions through the end of the shift; providers may finish patient work early but remain available until 5:00 PM
Manage medically and socially complex patients, including patients on ventilators, at a regional Level 1 trauma center and safety net hospital
Timely documentation in Epic

Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Active Washington license required (not open to licensure)
BLS required
Residency required; general inpatient rehabilitation experience
Comfortable supervising residents/trainees and viewing supervision as part of the role
Spinal cord injury or brain injury fellowship training is a bonus, not required
Providers must be able to work most of the requested weeks or make up coverage during alternate weeks

8:00-17:00, Monday-Friday
No call
Credentialing timeframe: approximately 3-4 months
Travel: rental car, airfare, and hotel covered; providers pay their own parking. Local providers preferred.
