Plastic Surgeon Needed in Fort Wayne, IN | Plastics, Burn & General Surgery | Ongoing Coverage | Licensure Assistance

Job description

Start: August 27, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing
Coverage: Inpatient hospital plastic, burn, and general surgery, plus outpatient burn/wound clinic
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00-15:00 (5x8s template); day and night coverage as scheduled
Call: Beeper call, 3:1 ratio, 20-minute response time. Approximately 2 phone consults, 2 patients seen, and 1 admission per 24-hour call period. Covers both clinical and call.
Volume: 2-3 patients per shift
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital (inpatient), 99 beds
Support: 1 MA and 1 office staff

General plastic surgery and hand reconstruction. Burn and wound care, including coverage of the outpatient burn and wound clinic a minimum of 8 hours per week. General surgery coverage as needed. Timely documentation in Cerner. Preferred skills include cranial and facial surgery, facial implants, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, maxillofacial reconstruction, cleft lip/palate, mandibular setbacks, breast surgery and reconstruction, hand and wrist surgery, tendon and nerve repair, digit reimplantation, congenital and traumatic reconstruction, abdominoplasty, genitourinary reconstruction, burn-related surgery, laser surgery, and microsurgery.

Requirements:
- Board Certified in Plastic Surgery
- General plastic surgery and hand reconstruction skills required
- Fellowship preferred
- Indiana license or IMLC required (open to licensure)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
- Minimum 8 hours/week in the outpatient burn and wound clinic
