FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LocumTenens.com files suit against Staff Care, AMN Healthcare
ALPHARETTA, GA, May 22, 2009 - In response to inquiries, LocumTenens.com, a physician recruiting firm and leading provider of temporary physician staffing, is issuing a statement regarding a civil action complaint filed recently in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. LocumTenens.com has filed suit against Staff Care, Inc. and Staff Care's parent company, AMN Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: AHS), for tortious interference with LocumTenens.com's contracts with providers and clients.
Previously, on two separate occasions, LocumTenens.com has attempted to resolve similar issues with Staff Care via NALTO, the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations. NALTO provides a foundation of industry standards and ethical guidelines for companies offering locum tenens recruitment services, and provides a formal dispute resolution process through an arbitration committee.
As stated in section 23 of the complaint, "[o]n at least two occasions prior to the instant dispute, Staff Care has improperly interfered with LocumTenens.com's contracts…Both disputes were submitted to non-binding arbitration procedures and both of the arbitrations were decided unanimously in favor of LocumTenens.com."
"This action is about maintaining the high standard of excellence for the locum tenens industry as a whole," said Shane Jackson, president of LocumTenens.com. "Despite repeated attempts to resolve these issues privately and through the NALTO arbitration process, Staff Care's actions continue to interfere with LocumTenens.com's business and contractual relationships."
