Locum to Perm- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- Charlotte, NC
Job description
TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a permanent placement in Charlotte, North Carolina! The ideal candidates will have at least two (2) years of recent experience as a Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
Position Details:
• Location: Charlotte, NC
• Facility Type: FQHC
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: M, T, TH 8a-8p, Wednesday 8a-6p, Friday 8a-1p, Saturday 8:30a-1p
• Patient Population: Diverse community health needs; all ages
Open to Locum to Perm or Direct to Perm
All In Office; no tele-health
Open to Part-Time or Full-Time
Qualifications:
• Active license in North Carolina
• Experience in Psychiatry or Acute Care Required
• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Must have DEA with North Carolina address
• No recent open malpractices
• Must be Medicaid/Medicare credentialed
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
· Monitor patients’ medication usage and results.
· Document patients’ medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes.
· Diagnose psychiatric disorders, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders.
· Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints.
· Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans.
· Conform to the federal opioid treatment standards set forth under (Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000).
· Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, and medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
· Order perform drug abuse testing and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patient’s condition.
· Ensure that a patient assessment, treatment plan, patient education, informed consent, treatment agreement, induction, stabilization, and follow-up.
· Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports and examination results.
· Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
· Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
· Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
· Coordinated work with substance abuse counselors, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, case managers, pharmacists, behavioral health specialist, and other health care providers.
· Maintain records for controlled substances prescribed and dispensed to patient for maintenance or detoxification treatment according to (21 CFR Section 1304.03).
Requirements:
· Master’s Degree in Nursing, preferred
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
· Two years of clinical nursing experience preferred
· Licensed as RN in State of North Carolina
· National certification as Nurse Practitioner by nationally accredited organization
· Current certificate of authority by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, certificate to prescribe preferred
· EMR is strongly preferred
· Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access or Lotus spreadsheet
