Job Description

The primary focus of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to provide medical care to patients of the center under the clinical and medical supervision of the Direct of Psychiatry.

Details:

Full-time, permanent position
Perform clinical and administrative duties for the patients
Patient population includes high prevalence of HIV and substance use
Obtain review of psychotropic medications and mental health history
Formulate and execute a treatment plan including medications and follow-up schedule
Recognize need for physician consultation when appropriate
Obtain signed patient consent for prescription of psychoactive medication
Participate in formal and informal case consultation with referring providers

Qualifications 

MUST have knowledge of or experience working with the LGBT community
Two years’ experience with outpatient mental health care or HIV specialty
California RN license/MSN with current CA furnishing number
DEA registration
ANCC/California Nurse Practitioner Certification
Current CPR
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
