Job Details:

• Provide admission physical exams, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management at a newly created residential addiction treatment facility
• Evaluate patients through detailed physical exams, full psychosocial comprehensive assessments, and development of detailed medical histories
• Order and perform appropriate laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests; seek consultation with primary care physicians and medical specialists as needed
• Collaborate with clinical and nursing staff to develop, implement, and revise individualized patient treatment plans
• Write orders for medications, treatments, and other matters pertaining to patient care
• Document progress notes, observations, test results, and all patient communications in medical records in accordance with policy and procedure
• Advise patients on medication use including dosage, side effects, and composition
• Review and interpret results of diagnostic studies and tests; consult with supervisory physician when appropriate and incorporate findings into plan of care
• Determine and discuss diagnoses with patients and document information including billing codes
• Provide education to individuals or groups as appropriate and as requested by the Medical Director
• Participate in peer review, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guidelines development, and quality assurance activities
• Primary responsibilities in inpatient withdrawal management and residential programs, with potential involvement in Partial Hospital, Outpatient, and community settings
• Work closely with the Residential Medical Director, staff psychiatrists, and clinicians in a patient-centered multidisciplinary team approach
• Must hold active CT licensure through the Department of Public Health and maintain CT DEA/CT Controlled Substance license
• CPR certification required; Advanced Practice RN or PA-C designation required
• Eligibility to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
