Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Minnesota

Job description

We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric and behavioral health care to patients in Minnesota.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, experienced PMHNP who is comfortable conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.

Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

Provide psychiatric medication management and prescribe medications within scope of practice.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s clinical needs.

Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust medications or treatment plans as appropriate.

Provide education and counseling regarding medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Coordinate care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Provide patient-centered care while following applicable clinical, regulatory, and professional standards.

Common Conditions
Experience treating the following is preferred:

Anxiety and depression

Bipolar disorder

PTSD and trauma-related conditions

ADHD

Other psychiatric and behavioral health conditions

Requirements
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization.

Active, unrestricted Minnesota PMHNP license.

Current PMHNP board certification.

Current DEA registration.

Current BLS certification.

Psychiatric or behavioral health clinical experience preferred.

Strong psychiatric assessment, communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.

Individual malpractice insurance required.

Must reside in the United States.
