Psychiatrist (Corona, CA)

Job description

Psychiatrist needed in Corona, California. The primary focus of the Psychiatrist is to provide direct patient psychiatric services to mentally ill inmates/wards under the direction of the Chief Psychiatrist.

Details:
• Full-time, locum position
• Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Meet with mentally ill patient-inmates for crisis intervention, face-to-face interviews, etc.
• Conduct evaluations including criminal, psychiatric, and substance abuse case history to assess inmate’s current needs
• Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations including clinical reviews, protocols, pertinent date reviews, and proper documentation
• Monitor patient progress using SOAPE formatted progress notes
• Identify the relevant signs and symptoms of medical/psychological disorders
• Examine prior mental health records, probation reports, court records, and other available documents
• Consult with supervising psychiatrist with complex or serious cases
• Provide medication as deemed appropriate for treatment
• Interpret lab results
• Work in consult with primary care medicine

Qualifications
• Valid California medical license
• Board Certified in Psychiatry or Board Eligible with Certification within one year
• Minimum of twelve consecutive months of experience within the last three years
• Active, unrestricted DEA
• Current BLS
• Cerner experience highly desired
