Location: SCVMC – Onsite
Schedule: Part-Time | 20 Hours per Week | Monday–Friday
Shift Options: Flexible 8 or 10-Hour Shifts
Compensation: $200-210/hour

Position Overview
SCVMC is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist with a background in forensic psychiatry to provide part-time court and forensic psychiatric services. This onsite opportunity offers a flexible weekday schedule and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary legal and behavioral health environment.

The provider will perform forensic psychiatric evaluations, treatment services, and court-related responsibilities while collaborating closely with legal teams, correctional staff, and behavioral health professionals.

Conduct comprehensive forensic psychiatric evaluations
Provide psychiatric assessments for court-related cases
Deliver psychiatric treatment and medication management services
Prepare forensic reports, documentation, and clinical summaries
Provide expert testimony and court consultation as needed
Collaborate with attorneys, court personnel, correctional staff, and treatment teams
Participate in case reviews and multidisciplinary treatment planning
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with legal and clinical standards
Evaluate competency, risk, and behavioral health status of patients within forensic settings
Ensure compliance with state, legal, and professional practice guidelines
Qualifications

Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist (MD/DO) required
Active California medical license required
DEA registration required
Fellowship training or significant experience in forensic psychiatry preferred
Prior court or correctional psychiatry experience required
Strong knowledge of forensic psychiatric principles and legal processes
Experience providing expert testimony preferred
Excellent written documentation and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary legal and clinical teams
