Inpatient Psychiatrist Needed in Georgia | Weekdays, No Call
Job description
Aya Locums is partnering with a hospital in Georgia seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for an inpatient locums assignment beginning November 1, 2026.
The physician will provide weekday coverage from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no call responsibilities. The initial commitment is three months, with the possibility of extending if the assignment remains a good fit for both the physician and facility.
This 20-bed inpatient program maintains an average daily census of approximately 10 patients. The incoming physician will work alongside two full-time psychiatrists, two full-time APPs, and two PRN psychiatrists.
Clinical responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment-team leadership, and collaboration with other disciplines involved in each patient’s care. Epic is used for documentation.
Qualified candidates must have at least two years of inpatient Psychiatry experience and hold current board certification, BLS, and DEA credentials. Previous Medical Director or other clinical leadership experience is preferred.
An active Georgia license is preferred because licensed candidates will be reviewed first. The facility may also consider physicians who qualify through the IMLC or another applicable compact pathway. A Letter of Qualification does not need to be in hand at the time of initial consideration.
Credentialing is expected to take approximately 120 days, allowing the facility to begin reviewing candidates well ahead of the anticipated start. Compensation is flexible, and qualifying airfare, hotel, and rental-car expenses are covered.
Contact Josh Turner with Aya Locums to discuss the clinical setting, assignment expectations, and whether this position aligns with what you are looking for in your next locums role.
