An exciting opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join a dynamic behavioral health team as a Lead Psychiatrist within a Crisis Stabilization Unit in the Detroit area.
This position is ideal for a provider who is passionate about both clinical excellence and leadership, and who enjoys mentoring teams, improving systems of care, and making a direct impact on patient outcomes in an acute psychiatric setting.

🧠 Leadership & Clinical Responsibilities
As Lead Psychiatrist, you will serve as both a clinical leader and frontline resource for the department by:
Providing departmental oversight and clinical guidance
Conducting chart reviews and maintaining quality standards
Supporting safe and effective prescribing practices
Acting as a consultant for complex clinical needs
Assisting with frontline coverage when needed
Collaborating with PMHNPs and weekend teams
Helping optimize workflow and unit performance
Participating in recruitment and hiring efforts
🏥 Clinical Setting
Crisis Stabilization Unit
Maximum 15-bed adult unit
Average Length of Stay: 39 hours
Addiction experience strongly preferred
Patient Care Structure
Medication Management: 15–20 minutes
New Evaluations: 45–60 minutes
💻 Technology
EMR: Odin & PCE Platform
✅ Qualifications
Board Certified Psychiatrist required
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Comfortable collaborating with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
Passion for acute psychiatric care and operational excellence
