Telemedicine Physician (MD/DO) – Neurofeedback Medical Clearance (NC Licensed)
Job description
Otter House Wellness is seeking a part-time Telemedicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide medical clearance screenings for individuals being considered for our neurofeedback/brain-mapping service line based in Asheville, North Carolina.
This is a screening-only role focused on determining whether a client is medically appropriate to proceed with brain mapping/neurofeedback based on clinical history, reported symptoms, and available records. The physician will conduct brief Telehealth evaluations, identify contraindications and safety red flags (e.g., seizure history), and document a clear clearance determination (appropriate to proceed vs. not appropriate vs. hold pending additional information/records). This role includes no prescribing and no ongoing medication management.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct virtual medical clearance evaluations for neurofeedback candidacy
• Review relevant client history, symptoms, and any available supporting records/documentation
• Identify contraindications and risk factors and provide a clearance recommendation
• Complete concise documentation supporting the determination
Schedule
• Part-time, flexible coverage based on volume (hours may vary week to week)
• Evaluations are brief and structured; timing may vary based on clinical complexity and record availability
Requirements
• MD/DO with an active North Carolina medical license
• Comfortable providing telemedicine evaluations and making safety-based clearance decisions
• Psychiatry preferred; Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also considered
Contract / Compensation
• Locum Tenens / 1099 engagement
• Hourly compensation discussed based on experience and availability
