Locum Tenens Psychiatrist

Job description

Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to provide adult behavioral health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This opportunity is available due to a current provider ending their assignment after August, creating an immediate coverage need.

The selected provider will practice independently across both hospital and clinic environments, located just five minutes apart, and will manage a combination of inpatient rounding, admissions, and outpatient psychiatric care.

Schedule Details

Monthly Coverage Needs:

5–7 inpatient shifts per month
12–19 outpatient clinic days per month
Occasional night call as needed
Weekend coverage approximately once per quarter

Daily Schedule Options:

Outpatient Clinic Days

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
1-hour lunch break

Combined Inpatient/Outpatient Days

Inpatient: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Clinic: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Occasional 7:30 AM start time for court-related responsibilities

Weekend Coverage

Inpatient telepsychiatry
Approximately once per quarter
May be completed remotely for providers residing in Washington

Practice Details
Adult patient population
Average daily census: 12–14 patients
Inpatient rounding and admissions required
Solo provider coverage
Both hospital and clinic privileges required
EMR: Epic

Requirements
MD or DO
Active Washington medical license required at time of presentation
Not accepting IMLC candidates due to expedited credentialing timeline
BLS certification required
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry preferred
