Adult Psychiatrist Needed for Mixed Inpatient and Outpatient Coverage in Washington
Job description
Aya Locums is seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for a mixed inpatient and outpatient assignment in Washington beginning in late November 2026.
The core schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch. Depending on the selected coverage block, the psychiatrist may work clinic-only days or divide the day between inpatient rounding in the morning and outpatient clinic in the afternoon. An occasional 7:30 a.m. start may be needed when court is scheduled.
The anticipated monthly schedule includes approximately five to seven inpatient shifts and 12 to 19 outpatient days. Responsibilities include inpatient rounding, admissions, discharges and outpatient psychiatric care for an adult patient population. The average daily volume is approximately 12 to 14 patients, and Epic is used for documentation.
Occasional night call is available but negotiable based on the physician’s interest and the final coverage arrangement. Weekend coverage occurs approximately once per quarter and consists of inpatient telepsychiatry coverage. Physicians residing in Washington may be able to handle those weekend responsibilities remotely.
Current weekday blocks are available between November 30, 2026 and January 27, 2027, with additional February coverage expected once the schedule is finalized. Physicians may be considered for one block, several blocks or broader ongoing coverage based on their availability and the client’s scheduling needs.
Candidates must be board certified in Psychiatry, maintain current BLS certification and have at least two years of relevant experience. An active Washington license must be in hand when the physician is presented because the credentialing timeline does not currently allow the facility to pursue a new license or IMLC pathway for this start.
Both hospital and clinic privileges are required. Candidates must also be able to provide a recent clinical activity list documenting 100 representative patients from the previous 24 months, including the applicable diagnosis or procedure, date and facility.
Compensation and any applicable call terms will be discussed based on the physician’s availability and final coverage structure. Qualifying assignment-related expenses are covered.
