LOCUM BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PHYSICIAN – MD/DO
We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Physician (MD/DO) for a locum tenens opportunity providing both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
POSITION DETAILS
✓ Start Date: November 28, 2026
✓ Coverage Needed: 1 FTE
✓ Reason for Coverage: Gap in coverage due to the current locum provider not extending
✓ Practice Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
✓ Patient Population: Adults
✓ EMR: Epic
✓ Hospital and Clinic Privileges Required
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Provide inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services
✓ Perform patient rounding and admissions
✓ Complete patient discharges as required
✓ Manage approximately 12–14 inpatient patients per day before transitioning to outpatient care
✓ Outpatient schedule consists primarily of follow-up patients with occasional new patient visits
✓ Approximately 5–7 outpatient patients, depending on scheduling needs
✓ 90 minutes allocated for new patient appointments
✓ 60 minutes allocated for transfer appointments
✓ 30 minutes allocated for follow-up appointments
✓ Dedicated time is available for clinical documentation
✓ No patient overbooking or overflow scheduling
PROVIDER SUPPORT
✓ Provider will work alongside a Behavioral Health team and will not be the sole provider managing inpatient coverage
✓ Psychiatric hospitalist coverage is available on the inpatient unit from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
✓ Experienced Nurse Practitioner support is available
REQUIREMENTS
✓ Active Washington State license in hand at the time of presentation is required
✓ Candidates requiring licensure will not be considered due to the urgent credentialing timeline
✓ MD/DO with Behavioral Health/Psychiatry experience required
✓ Current BLS certification required
✓ Applicant must provide clinical activity documentation from the previous 24 months
✓ Case list must demonstrate care provided to at least 100 patients representative of the requested scope of privileges
✓ Case list must include the diagnosis or procedure, date performed, and facility where performed
