Mental Health Therapist — Ophiuchus Counseling and Psychotherapy

Job description

Are you passionate about helping others optimize their lives and relationships? Do you find fulfillment in supporting others to find meaning and purpose, identity, freedom and connections with others characterized by deep understanding, vulnerability and authenticity? At Ophiuchus Counseling and Psychotherapy, we understand that pain is a natural part of life, and we work with clients both to accept and grieve the losses they have suffered while also supporting them in the journey to find healing and reclaim lost or previously inaccessible parts of themselves. If this sounds like the work you would like to be a part of, we would love to have you on our team.

About Us

At Ophiuchus Counseling and Psychotherapy, we believe that therapy is a process of supporting clients to grow beyond a dependence on the therapist. We work to demonstrate and model sustainable communication and life skills to be replicated in our clients’ lives. In addition to facilitating and supporting healing and resilience from trauma, we seek to empower clients by helping them identify and trust their own instincts and perceptions, find their own solutions and learn to extend understanding, empathy and compassion towards others based on a balanced and complex understanding of themselves.

Recognizing that we are all in a lifelong process of learning, our focus is to promote and provide a supportive professional environment with the resources, flexibility, and encouragement needed for staff to thrive both professionally and personally. In addition to supervision, case consultation and mentorship, we also train clinicians in a variety of projective and expressive therapeutic modalities (e.g. somatosensory exercises, memory activation and engagement, Narrative Sand Therapy, etc.) and offer opportunities for participation in formal trainings with continuing education credit.
