Associate Clinical Therapist (LPCA/LMSW)

Job description

We are seeking an associate-level mental health clinician to join our practice. The clinician will provide therapeutic services to a diverse client population under licensed clinical supervision, offering support in anxiety, depression, grief, and other related issues.

In this role, you will provide direct clinical mental health treatment under supervision, conduct ongoing assessments, and consult with your supervisor and other healthcare providers as you build toward full licensure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with your area of training and supervisory guidance
• Assess clients’ mental health concerns and develop treatment plans in consultation with your clinical supervisor
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation as required by ethical and legal standards
• Collaborate with your supervisor and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive client care
• Participate in weekly individual and/or group supervision toward accumulating required licensure hours
• Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with treatment modalities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a graduate degree in counseling, social work, or a related clinical field from an accredited university
• Current Connecticut associate-level licensure or license-eligible status (LPCA, LMSW, or equivalent pathway toward LPC/LCSW/LMFT)
• Flexible availability
• Self-motivated and committed to client therapeutic goals
• Minimum commitment of 12 months or longer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:

• Working knowledge of theories of human behavior and diagnostic criteria for mental illness
• Awareness of social, cultural, economic, political, religious, and other factors that influence behavior
• Familiarity with Connecticut state regulations governing associate-level licensed practitioners
• Strong oral and written communication skill
• Willingness to apply and develop skill in treatment modalities such as behavioral, cognitive, and crisis intervention approaches, with supervisory guidance
