Pulm/Critical Care Needed in Gadsden, AL | 32-Bed ICU | 24-Hour Call | Licensure Flexible

Job description

Start: September 17, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Approximately 1 week — September 17 through September 21, 2026 (open to extension)
Coverage: Inpatient ICU — 24-hour call
Schedule: 24-hour on-call (beeper)
Call: Call only, beeper — approximately 6–10 phone consults and 25–30 patients seen
Volume: 25–30 patients per shift; 32-bed ICU
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, Level III trauma — 32-bed ICU; EMR Cerner

Skills/Case mix: Inpatient critical care management including cardiac arrest and failure, respiratory arrest and failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, overdose and poisoning, and drowning; pre- and post-operative general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiothoracic. Ventilation management: invasive (ETT/NT/tracheostomy) and non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP). Chest tube insertion.

Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonology
- Fellowship preferred
- Licensed in Alabama or IMLC
- BLS required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Comfortable with full-scope critical care, vent management, and chest tube insertion
