# Medical Physicist – Radiation Oncology

## Position Overview

We are seeking a **Board Certified Medical Physicist** to join a comprehensive Radiation Oncology program. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity focused on radiation treatment accuracy, equipment commissioning and calibration, quality assurance, radiation safety, and brachytherapy support.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a cancer treatment setting and a strong understanding of radiation oncology physics, treatment planning, and quality assurance.

## Key Responsibilities

* Ensure the accuracy of radiation measurements across radiation oncology programs.
* Perform periodic quality checks and maintain required radiation measurement records.
* Participate in department meetings, chart reviews, and quality assurance activities.
* Oversee brachytherapy procedures for safety, accuracy, and appropriate documentation.
* Commission and calibrate radiation therapy equipment.
* Support radiation treatment planning and quality assurance processes.
* Participate in Radiation Safety Committee activities.
* Assist with NRC documentation and regulatory compliance.
* Contribute to department policies, procedures, and process improvement.
* Maintain high standards of patient safety and treatment accuracy.

## Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in **Medical Physics**.
* Current certification by the **American Board of Radiology (ABR)**.
* Successful completion of applicable ABR certification examinations, with certification required within the specified timeframe.
* Minimum **1 year of experience as a Medical Physicist in a cancer treatment setting**.
* Strong understanding of radiation oncology physics and treatment safety.
* Ability to meet applicable credentialing and regulatory requirements.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a **Varian treatment environment**.
* Experience with external beam treatment planning, including:

* SRS
* SBRT
* IMRT
* 3DCRT
* Brachytherapy treatment planning experience.
* Experience with **Sun Nuclear** quality assurance devices.
* Experience with **4D CT** and gated radiation therapy.
* Experience with **Vision RT/OSMS** technology.
