Physician Assistant – Radiation Oncology (Outpatient)
Location: Area outside San Francisco, CA
Start Date: 5/11/2026
Contract Length: 6 months; potential ongoing need

Schedule

Monday–Friday
8‑hour day shifts
No weekends
No call
Full‑time only


Practice Details

Outpatient radiation oncology department
Patient volume: ~6–8 scheduled visits/day
Mix of follow‑ups, symptom management, long‑term follow‑up care, and urgent/emergent add‑ons
New consults completed by attending physicians
APP serves as first‑line contact for escalations and in‑basket management
Support team includes RNs, MAs, and attending physicians
Patient population: adults; majority breast and GU oncology
No procedures
EMR: Epic
Single outpatient department


Clinical Scope

Conduct follow‑ups, symptom management visits, and urgent evaluations
Manage oncology patients across breast and GU oncology
Coordinate escalations and manage in‑basket messages
Provide outpatient support for emergent add‑on visits
Document and manage care plans in Epic
Collaborate with oncology attendings and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow


Requirements

Physician Assistant — Radiation Oncology or Oncology
Active California PA license required
CA DEA with Schedule II authority required
BLS (AHA) required
Minimum 2–3 years recent PA Oncology experience (ambulatory preferred; inpatient considered)
Radiation oncology experience preferred but not required
Experience in academic medical center strongly preferred
Strong Epic proficiency and ability to manage tech‑heavy workflows


Credentialing

Estimated 60–90 days
Provider must submit required demographic and licensing information within 72 hours of offer to initiate privileging
1–2 interviews expected
