Therapeutic Medical Physicist – Radiation Oncology (Local / 3 Days/Wk)

Position Overview
A premier healthcare system in the Flint, MI area is seeking a Board-Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist for a part-time locum tenens assignment. This position covers 3 outpatient radiation oncology centers, managing high-volume quality assurance and advanced treatment planning.
Work Setting: 100% Outpatient (3 regional clinic sites)
Patient Volume: 60–70 patients/day across all 3 sites
EMR / Oncology System: Aria
Assignment Duration: Ongoing until permanent hiring / client coverage needs are met
Key Responsibilities
Complete initial and weekly patient chart checks.
Perform routine machine QA and calibration across linear accelerators.
Lead HDR (High-Dose-Rate) treatment planning and operational oversight.
Provide direct clinical supervision for SBRT procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Board Certification: Active ABR or ABMP Board Certification [REQUIRED]
State Licensure: Active Michigan State Medical Physics / RAM License [REQUIRED]
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of clinical therapeutic medical physics experience [REQUIRED]
Background: Clean record with no active malpractice or license sanctions [REQUIRED]
Location: Local candidates ONLY. Only local mileage reimbursement is provided (no travel, lodging, or per diem) [REQUIRED]
Compensation Details
Competitive Hourly Rate (Malpractice Insurance Included)
Overtime / Holiday Pay: 1.5x Hourly Rate
Mileage Reimbursement Provided
