This medical center is a leading healthcare provider in the region, offering comprehensive medical services including advanced interventional radiology capabilities. The facility utilizes Epic EMR systems and maintains a robust IR department that performs 10-15 procedures during typical 8-hour day shifts.
Opportunity:
Physician - Radiology - Interventional
Job Details:
• Provide locum interventional radiology coverage with general IR capabilities
• Work 8-hour day shifts, typically between 8a-4p with evening call coverage 4p-8a
• Cover 24-hour call shifts on weekends
• Perform comprehensive diagnostic vascular interventions including angiography (venous and arterial)
• Conduct therapeutic vascular interventions such as angioplasty and stenting (venous and arterial)
• Provide thrombolytic therapy and embolization therapy
• Perform interventional body procedures including vascular access devices and PICC lines
• Insert central lines, port-a-cath devices, and IVC filters
• Conduct TIPS procedures and aspiration/drainage procedures
• Perform percutaneous needle biopsies (above/below diaphragm and bone)
• Handle extractions (biliary and renal), abscess drainage, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
• Conduct pain management procedures including joint/epidural injections and vertebroplasty
• Perform specialized procedures such as uterine artery embolization, liver Y90/TACE, and cryoablation
• Insert gastrostomy tubes, nephrostomy/ureteral stents, and chest tubes
• Stroke capabilities preferred but not required
• Must have active ND license or IMLC if ND license not active
• Board certification, IR residency or fellowship required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Clean malpractice history highly preferred
• Average callback hours: 2.5 hours weekdays, 1.3 hours weekends
• Credentialing timeframe 60-90 days
