Sports Medicine Locum Opportunity in Illinois
Job description

Opportunity Details: Orthopedic Surgery – Sports Medicine (Illinois)
Start: July 2026 (ASAP considered)
Contract Length: 6 months
Schedule:
2 clinic days (8a–5p)
2 OR days (starting 7:30a)
Flexible scheduling for clinic/OR days
Work Details:
Clinic volume: 25–30 patients/day
Surgical volume: ~8–10 cases/week
EMR: Epic
Team of 6 orthopedic surgeons + APP support
APPs assist in OR and help with call coverage
Case Mix:
ACL, MCL, PCL repairs
Knee/ligament reconstruction and meniscus work
Hip arthroscopy (required)
Multi-ligament procedures (required)
Call:
Weekend call: 1:7 (Fri 5p – Mon 7a)
Weeknight call: shared, ~0–1 night/week
Includes ER calls and inpatient rounding
Requirements:
Sports Medicine fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon
Experience with hip arthroscopy and multi-ligament procedures required
Active Illinois license or IMLC required
Comfortable in Level II trauma setting
Credentialing:
Approx. 3 months (temporary privileges available)
