Locums – APP – Surgical ICU – Southern California

Schedule & Coverage

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6+ months

Shift Details: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; willing to accept sporadic coverage

Open December Shifts: Dec 11–12, 15–16, 19–31

Coverage: Scheduled; no call

Work Details

Practice Setting: Academic

Support Staff: 2 APPs at night; attending physicians available for backup

Coverage Needed: 15–20 shifts per month

Patient Volume: 12–15 per shift

Patient Population: Adults

Department Description:

Surgical ICU + consults

Lower acuity and volume initially

Triage responsibilities

Covers all surgical services except Neurosurgery

No trauma, burn, cardiac surgery, or transplant

ENT, Neuro, OB-GYN, and Plastics consults

ORs: 24 total

EMR: Epic

Requirements

Board Certification: Required

State License: Active CA license required

Certifications: ATLS

Experience: 2–3 years preferred

Credentialing

Timeframe: ~30 days
