🛑 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Strict Compliance):
Provider Type:
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
• Physician Assistant (PA)

Experience Requirement:
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience as an ACNP
• Cardiac Surgery ICU experience required
• No prior surgical experience required

Candidate Profile:
• Strong interest or background in cardiothoracic surgery and/or critical care
• Comfortable practicing with a high level of autonomy
• Committed to teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous professional growth

📋 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Critical Care Management:
Manage patients recovering from:
• Aortic surgery
• Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
• Thoracic surgery
• Valve surgery

Mechanical Circulatory Support Collaboration:
Participate in the management of:
• ECMO
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)
• Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
• Impella devices
• Right Ventricular Assist Devices (RVADs)

Procedural Skills:
Perform and develop proficiency in:
• Bronchoscopy
• Central venous catheter placement
• Arterial line insertion
• Chest tube management

Patient Experience & Quality:
• Optimize patient satisfaction and outcomes
• Deliver evidence-based perioperative critical care

Diagnostic & Clinical Decision-Making:
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies
• Apply sound clinical judgment for timely interventions

Emergency Response:
• Respond to emergent situations
• Provide rapid assessment and stabilization until definitive treatment is initiated

🏥 PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT:
Practice Setting: Hospital-Based Cardiothoracic ICU

Trauma Designation: Level I Trauma Center

Hospital Size: 733 Beds

Unit Details:
• 12-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU
• Adult patient population

Support Structure:
• 1–2 providers per shift

Patient Volume:
• 6–12 patients daily plus consults

EMR System:
• EPIC

Procedural Opportunities:
• Central lines
• Arterial lines
• Dialysis catheters

☎️ SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Coverage Type: Scheduled Coverage

Shift Options:
• 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Assignment Structure:
• Approximately 39 hours weekly
• Three-day stretches preferred

Call Requirement:
• No call required
