Sept 18,19,20,21
Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Round on approximately 10–20 inpatient SICU and trauma patients.
Respond to trauma activations.
Work alongside the trauma APP team.

Facility
10-bed Surgical ICU (SICU)

Requirements
Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
Active ATLS certification
Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required
Active Arizona medical license and DEA required, will look at IMLC candidates

Clinical Responsibilities
Manage Surgical ICU patients.
Provide care for trauma patients in the Step-Down Unit and on the floor.
Collaborate effectively with Nurse Practitioners/APPs.
Complete all documentation directly in the EMR (notes are not entered by support staff).
Comfortable treating patients of all ages, including pediatrics.

Additional Information
Day shifts are generally lighter as an Acute Care Surgeon is present on the floor.
During night shifts, the Acute Care Surgeon is off-site, and the Surgical ICU physician covers General Surgery, Trauma, and the SICU.
