Surgery Oncology Physician Needed in Atlanta, GA

Job description

• Support staff: 4-5 MDs and there is APP support
• Coverage Type: weekend call only
• Schedule Details: Friday 5p-Monday 8am
Work Details:
• Facility Type: hospital
• Practice Setting: Inpatient/ call/ OR
• EMR/Charting Software: epic
• Avg. Daily Census: 30+ patients per day, 1 cases as first assist
• Patient Age Group: adults
• Specific responsibilities:
- First assist with OR cases which range from exploratory laparotomies (ex laps) to Whipple procedures or liver resections, both open and robotic
- Rounding with the team on inpatients and consults – 30+ high acuity patients
- Seeing new consults or admissions and coordinating care with intermittent APP support during this timeframe Saturday at 7 am – Sunday at 6 pm
- Case volume is ~1 per weekend
- Take calls for inpatients and consults during above hours
- All surgical bookings will come through the attending surgeon on call.
Requirements:
• Board Certifications Req’d General Surgery
• State License(s): GA
• Certifications: BLS
• CSR Req’d: no
• DEA Req’d?: yes
• Years of Experience Req’d: open to new grads
Credentialing Timeframe: 120 days; can possibly push to 90 days
