Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (5x8s)
Call: Optional, with potential weekend coverage
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 7 weeks
Licensing: Open to national candidates – willing to license
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to first assist in a variety of robotic and open surgical cases. The primary focus will be Thoracic Surgery, with additional opportunities to assist across multiple service lines including Urology, Gynecology, Head & Neck, and General Surgery. This position is entirely intraoperative—no preoperative or postoperative duties.
The provider will rotate between Ronald Reagan Medical Center (higher thoracic volume) and Santa Monica Medical Center (thoracic, general surgery, urology, and GYN cases).
Responsibilities
First assist in robotic and open Thoracic procedures including thoracotomies and lobectomies
Assist in multi-specialty DaVinci robotic cases:
Gynecology: hysterectomies
Urology: prostatectomies, nephrectomies
Head & Neck: SP robot cases
General Surgery: varied XI robotic procedures
Collaborate with attending surgeons and a skilled team of PAs across both campuses
Requirements
Thoracic Surgery experience required
DaVinci XI robotic surgery experience required (SP robot experience preferred)
Experience in at least one of the following specialties: Urology, GYN, Head & Neck, or General Surgery
Minimum two years of surgical first-assist experience
