Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery (Inpatient + OR First Assist)
Location: near Beverly Hills, CA
Start Date: 5/1/2026
Contract Length: 5 months (through 10/1/2026); potential extension

Schedule

Standard daytime schedule (7:00 AM–3:00 PM)
Scheduled clinical hours plus required call
Provider must be available 3–5 days per week
Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM during assigned call rotation
Weekend call: Friday 3:00 PM–Monday 7:00 AM during call rotation
Call rotation is 1:2 (shared with one other PA)
Expected call‑backs: approx. 1–2 per month
Full‑time schedule


Practice Details

Inpatient cardiothoracic service + clinic + OR first assist
Adults‑only population
Typical volume: 5–8 patients per shift
Clinic located inside the hospital; PAs rotate through OR assist, rounding, and clinic in the same day
EMR: Epic
Hospital privileges required
Support staff available


Clinical Scope

Radical and endoscopic vein harvesting
First assist for cardiothoracic surgery procedures
Interpret EKGs, X‑rays, labs
Manage ICU and step‑down cardiothoracic patients
Experience with ECMO, IABP, and Impella
Collaborate with CT surgery team for coordinated care
Document all care in Epic


Requirements

Physician Assistant — Board Certification required
Active CA license required
Highly preferred: 3–5 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
DEA required
AHA BLS and ACLS required
Hospital privileging required
Must be proficient in EVH, OR first assist, ICU/step‑down management, and advanced cardiac support technologies


Credentialing

Estimated 90 days
Provider must submit onboarding documents promptly to initiate privileging
