PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – THORACIC SURGERY

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

Seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a 5–6 month locum assignment providing thoracic surgery coverage.

✓ Schedule: 2–3 shifts per week
✓ Shift: 12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
✓ Setting: Hospital
✓ EMR: EPIC
✓ Patient population: Adult/Geriatric
✓ Average census: 15–25 patients per shift
✓ Primarily floor patients from Step Down, OR/Post-Op, and ICU
✓ PA works primarily independently, with a fellow available as a clinical resource
✓ Potential first responder to codes until the fellow arrives
✓ May perform H&P for patients transferred from other hospitals
✓ Coverage is for maternity leave

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

✓ Minimum 1 year of experience
✓ Thoracic surgery experience
✓ Chest tube, Blake drain, and pigtail management
✓ ABG experience
✓ NGT and G/J feeding tube experience preferred
✓ ACLS and BLS
✓ NCCPA certification
✓ DEA required

Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges may be considered.
