Job description

We are seeking an experienced, Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum opportunity in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a hospital-based position providing 24-hour call coverage, including night call, phone consultations, and emergent operating room cases. The provider will serve as a first assist in cardiothoracic surgery and must be proficient in vein harvesting. Responsibilities include assisting with cardiothoracic surgical procedures, supporting the operating room team, and managing urgent surgical call coverage. The facility utilizes EPIC EMR. Candidates must hold an active Nebraska license (or IMLC with LOQ), be Board Certified, and have vein harvesting experience.

• First Assist Cardiothoracic Surgery – Serve as a first assist in the OR with vein harvesting expertise required for cardiothoracic surgical cases.
• 24-Hour Hospital Call – Provide 24-hour call coverage, including night call, phone consultations, and emergent OR cases, using EPIC EMR.
• Immediate Coverage Need – Multiple coverage blocks available in July and August 2026 due to provider leave, with emergency privileges possible during credentialing.
