Facility:
This established regional medical center provides comprehensive cardiac and surgical services to the western Kentucky region. The facility features a dedicated heart operating room and hybrid OR, a collaborative ICU team, and a focused anesthesia team dedicated to CT surgery, offering an excellent environment for cardiac surgical professionals.

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens Cardiac Surgery Physician opportunity with heavy cardiac focus required
• Candidates MUST be available for one of the following date ranges: 12/24-12/28 (first preference, candidates with this availability will be prioritized) or 12/28-1/4
• Hospital-based practice setting with 24-hour shifts (7a-7a)
• Average of 1-2 CT surgical cases per day
• Annual ER volume of 30,000
• One Heart OR and one Hybrid OR available
• Documentation via EPIC EMR system
• Ancillary staff includes First Assist with Endoscopic Saphenous Vein Harvest experience, dedicated CT surgery anesthesia team, and collaborative ICU team
• Patient age demographic: Adult and Geriatric
• 4-7 shifts per month
• Adult Cardiac Surgery required, including CABG using Internal Mammary Arteries and Radial Artery, including Redo cases
• Heart Valve Repair and Replacement Surgery required
• General Thoracic Surgery required, including Tube Thoracostomy, Tracheostomy, Bronchoscopy, VATS decortication/lung biopsy, and Pericardial Window
• ICU Management of high-risk cases required, including Impella Insertion/Removal/Bailout and medical management of critically ill patients
• Structural Heart Procedure Support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab required
• Active Kentucky license required; candidates needing to obtain licensure will be considered
• Board Certified and BLS Certified required
• Clean background required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days
• On-call and weekend availability required
• Travel reimbursement provided, including lodging at approximately $150/night and standard/economy rates for all other bookings
