This well-established medical center serves the Hilton Head Island community and surrounding areas, providing comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical services. The facility features a 12-bed department with strong support infrastructure and a credentialing timeframe of approximately 30 days.

Board Certified - Thoracic Surgery - Cardio Thoracic Surgery

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens CVT surgeon coverage needed from 7/24 at 7am through 8/3 at 7am
• Approximately 2 patient encounters per shift in a 12-bed department
• Must hold an active South Carolina medical license - SC license required to bid
• Board certification required with ACLS certification
• Perform general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures including open and endoscopic approaches
• Coronary artery bypass surgery (on-pump and off-pump) including CABG
• Congenital defect repairs including ASD, VSD, and PFO
• Valvular repair and replacement procedures
• Aneurysm repair including cardiac, aorto-thoracic, and aorto-abdominal
• Lung resection procedures including VATs and chest wall or pleural procedures
• Esophagus and diaphragm surgeries
• Permanent pacemaker placement and AICD (Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator) management
• Left ventricular assist devices and TAVR procedures
• Ventilator management and bronchoscopy
• Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues
• Insertion of central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABP
• General vascular surgery including open and endovascular approaches
• Bypass procedures including aorto-femoral/iliac and fem-pop
• Endarterectomy procedures including carotid, renal, and subclavian steal procedures
