Job description

Start: February 8, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks
Coverage: Cardiothoracic surgery call coverage
Schedule: 24-hour call blocks, 7:00–7:00
Call: Beeper call; 30-minute response time; 1:2 call ratio; about 2% callback rate
Volume: 1–2 phone consults, 3–6 patients seen, and about 1 admission per 24 hours
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, stroke certified

• Cardiothoracic surgery consults and emergent cases while on call
• PAs take first call
• Inpatient rounding and admissions
• Documentation in Cerner
• Temporary privileges available
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active South Carolina license required
• ACLS and BLS required
• No malpractice history within the past 10 years
