This medical center is a well-established healthcare facility providing comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical services to the community. The facility features a robust cardiothoracic surgery program with experienced physicians and midlevel providers, utilizing EPIC EMR system for optimal patient care coordination.

Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:
• Provide cardiothoracic surgery coverage with both OR and patient management responsibilities
• Work setting: 95% hospital-based, 5% office/clinic
• Full-time position (1.0 FTE) covering adult patients (100%)
• Manage 5-10 hospital patients per day with 0-3 admissions and 2-7 ICU patients
• Assist with 1-2 surgeries per day
• Schedule includes Monday-Friday and call coverage (1-2 weekdays and weekends)
• Night call runs from 5pm to 7am
• Required procedures: General CV/thoracic surgery (open), coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump), valvular repair and replacement
• Preferred procedures: Cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair, lung resection (including VATS), chest wall procedures, LVAD management
• Additional skills: Ventilation management, acute volume/BP management, central line insertion
• Must have cardiothoracic surgery experience in OR and acute care/ICU settings
• Work alongside 2 physicians and 4 midlevel providers with RN Navigator support
• Washington state PA license highly preferred or willingness to obtain during credentialing
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Local candidates strongly preferred (no flights)
• Assignment duration: 6-9 months starting as soon as credentialed
• Credentialing timeframe: 3+ months

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
